About Cara

Hey there! My name is Cara Madrid, and I’m a graphic designer and illustrator based in Idaho, USA.

Background

I was born in Hong Kong, where I lived until relocating to California in 2012 to attend University. In 2016, I received my bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design and Painting, with a minor in Communication Design from the University of Southern California. After university I lived and worked in Los Angeles until 2020, when I packed up everything and drove to northern Idaho to pursue remote work opportunities in a beautiful rural landscape.

Experience

I’ve learned a great deal from my collective 8-years of experience as an in-house designer, agency designer, as well as a freelance designer. My specialities include branding, packaging, and infographic design. With any type of project, I bring a strong understanding of both digital media (e.g. social media, web advertising, email direct marketing) and printed media (packaging, catalogs, end-cap displays). I strive to take every brief from a client or teammate and use my skills to find a creative solution everyone can be proud of.

More

When I’m not helping others find creative visual solutions, I enjoy playing outside with my rescue pit bull, Marcel, and making handmade crafts for friends and family. On the weekends you might catch me creating a new popcorn flavor in the kitchen, or carefully reorganizing and labeling my art supplies (and creating a mess in the process).
